Scope of Practice and Transfer Policies

Whether you are in a hospital based or free-standing care model, it is important to define your scope of practice, but also important to define what you are not able to treat in your center. It is also important to recognize that while most patients are able to select the appropriate care environment certain medical conditions may necessitate transfer to a higher level of care. Here are sample triage and transfer protocols that you can adapt to your setting.
