It is hard to believe 2020 is fast approaching. It seems like yesterday we were together in Fort Worth. Sincere thanks to everyone who attended, spoke, and planned the annual SPUC 2019 conference in Fort Worth, Texas. Cook Children’s Medical Center is a beautiful hospital. Dr. Parul Martin and her team members were wonderful hosts. The conference included great talks on innovations in urgent care as well as hands on simulations and workshops. It was also a great opportunity to hear about research that is going on in urgent care with over 18 posters which were presented.
I am thankful this holiday season for our leaders and members. SPUC is growing every year and we are now nearing 350 members. For those who couldn’t make it to Fort Worth, we announced the Mike Moran Scholar award in honor of Dr. Moran, a founding member and board member who passed away this year. We honor Mike for his passion for teaching with a new scholarship award used to sponsor a pediatric resident, fellow or recently graduated fellow to present their abstract at next year’s conference. If you are interested in contributing to this fund, we have information on our website.
Stay connected in 2020! We are excited to be in Nashville next fall for the 2020 annual conference. If you have a topic or speaker suggestion or want to be involved I the planning, let us know. Contact the SPUC office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
